There was a post where you guys listed your interactions w/ members of the Dead and I have my own experiance w/ other rockers that was fairly extensive.A family friend of my father was the mega manager Dee Anthony who started out as Tony Bennets' road manager. After touring Europe he knew that rock was the thing to get into and he and his brother formed Bandana Productions which handled most of the British bands working in the U.S.His stable of performers if you will was Ten Years After,Joe Cocker,Peter Framton,Savoy Brown,Spooky Tooth and many others. My favorites were TYA and got to see them many times at the Fillmore East and Dee and Bill Graham would be constantly butting heads about one thing or another, both these guys were not to be triffeld with at all .Spring weekend at New Paltz we were on stage for both the Airplane then on later Joe Cocker, also I'm on the YounBloods back cover album. At New Paltz at the gym Mountain opened for TYA and again we did the the backstage thing. One of the best shows to see from the wings was Derek and the Domioes shows at the Capital Theater in Portchester were again the Anthony family had some stake at the theater. So w/ all the bands he handeled we also of course saw and heard and talked to lots of the other groups that either opened for his bands or like the case of Jeff Beck he was the headliner for Joe Cocker at this show. The line up for JBG this night was Rod Stewart,Nickey Hopkins,
Ronnie Lane. These were very heady and impressionable times for me at the ripe old age of 17.
